Diesel gets even cheaper at Pas de la Case: the gap with France becomes staggering

The Andorran government has just announced a new drop in the price of diesel of 10 cents per liter, effective from Tuesday, September 1st to Wednesday, September 30th, 2026. Excellent news for French drivers filling up at Pas de la Case, where the price gap with France has never been so significant.

A drop that adds to August's cut

This reduction comes on top of the 5 cents already applied in August, bringing the total drop to 15 cents per liter since this summer. According to Andorran authorities, the Principality is seeking to protect purchasing power and competitiveness in the face of renewed international tensions weighing on energy prices, while remaining attractive compared to its Spanish neighbours, who are also cutting prices at the pump.

Up to 45 cents' difference with France

The contrast is striking. At the end of August, the cheapest diesel found in the Toulouse metropolitan area was around €2.15/L. At Pas de la Case, a liter of diesel was already hovering around €1.70/L even before the September 1st cut — and will drop even lower this month.

The result: a gap that can exceed 45 cents per liter, more than enough to justify the detour through Andorra for any driver from the Toulouse or Ariège region.

How much does that mean for a full tank?

For a 50-liter tank:

• In France: around €107.50
• At Pas de la Case (from September 1st): around €80
• Estimated savings: around €27 per fill-up

Enough to easily cover the round trip from Toulouse, while also taking advantage of Pas de la Case's other tax-free prices (tobacco, alcohol, perfumes).
