From 17 November 2025 at 8:30 PM, the Route des Couleuvres (RN22) will be closed to traffic for the winter season due to roadworks on the RN320. A new mandatory route will be put in place to reach Pas de la Case and Andorra.

Since May 2024, the DIR Sud-Ouest (the regional roads authority) has been carrying out major construction work on an avalanche shelter gallery along the RN320 at L'Hospitalet-près-l'Andorre.

❄️ The RN22's unsuitability in winter
The Route des Couleuvres (RN22), used as a detour since May 2025, is not suited to winter conditions. This stretch, linking the north entrance of the Puymorens tunnel to the junction with the RN320, has dangerous characteristics in winter:
- Sharp hairpin bends
- Steep gradient
- Narrow width
- Exposure to snowfall and ice

Between 8:30 PM and 6:00 AM, both roads (RN22 AND RN320) will be closed at the same time between the junction with the RN20 and the locality of "La Croisade" for the signage installation.

- Reach the pass from Porté-Puymorens
- Access Pas de la Case via the pass
